Our History
It all started 10 years ago when our founders were having a backyard pizza party. They were using one of the leading pellet pizza ovens on the market, but were frustrated with the uneven cooking, excessive smoke, and difficulty maintaining temperature. Being engineers and product designers, they decided to go back to the drawing board and build a better pizza oven.
After months of research, design iterations, and testing prototypes in their backyards, our founders had created what they believed to be the perfect backyard pellet pizza oven. It cooked pizzas more evenly, produced less smoke, and made it easy to dial in just the right temperature.
Encouraged by the reactions from friends and family, our founders launched Big Horn Pizza Oven® in 2013 with the mission to share their innovative pellet pizza oven with backyard pizza lovers everywhere. We started off selling directly to consumers online and at local events.
The response was tremendous. Customers loved the consistent results and convenience of our pellet pizza oven. Word spread fast and before we knew it, we were being contacted by retailers interested in carrying our ovens.
